War is a major cause of food insecurity. The mere threat of war in
Afghanistan is already worsening the impact of a famine caused by sustained
drought. Other countries, including Sudan, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia have
long known how war compounds the effect of existing natural disasters.
What lessons have already been learnt about how to alleviate the effect of
war on food security?
