HYDROPONICS
Hydroponics is the growth of plants in water or, at least, on a
medium, such as gravel, sand, cinders to what-have-you, with a
water solution of nutrients trickled over that medium to provide
plants with the nutrients they need for growth.
Hydroponics is used mainly as a controlled system for the produc-
tion of out-of-season crops or for growing crops in areas where
the soil is not suitable for cultivation or where the water
supply is limited. Less water is used in hydroponics because the
nutrient solution is re-used.
