The World Resources Institute
in cooperation with the
United States Agency for International Development
has now made available online:

1993 Directory of Country Environmental Studies: An annotated bibliography of environmental and natural resource profiles and assessments (with preliminary listings for the upcoming Fall 1995 edition)

URL: gopher://gaia.info.usaid.gov:70/11/prot_env/dcs

The 1993 Directory is the latest edition of a unique guide to the content and availability of hundreds of national and regional level studies of environmental and natural resource conditions. For each study the Directory provides an abstract and cites the title, author, publication date, sponsoring and collaborating organizations, and indicates how the full report may be obtained. Citations are organized by region and country. Also included are an introductory overview, a quick reference matrix of reports available by country (hardcopy only), and descriptions of the major institutional programs which produce these reports. The Directory is compiled by the World Resources Institute as a contribution to the International Environmental and Natural Resource Assessment Information Service (INTERAISE), with funding from United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the Development Assistance Committee of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD/DAC).

Please take a minute to review our entries for countries you are familiar with and alert us to any omissions of publicly available, national-level environmental strategies or assessments.

The Directory is also available in hardcopy (US$19.95 + $3.50 s/h) and database diskette ($49.95 + $3.50 s/h) formats. These items and other WRI publications may be purchased from:
