Dear DEVEL-L members,We just started an international survey - for the Dutch Organization for Energy and Environment (Novem, http://www.novem.nl) - in which we will try to identify innovations and new developments in the field of electric household appliances (freezers, refrigerators, washing machines, TV/audio, cooling/heating-systems, cooking, etcetera) and lighting. We are especially interested in inventions that deal with the energy-efficiency of the appliances. Furthermore, we are hoping to find innovations on the `product-level'. For instance, we are not primarily looking for new ways of controlling the temperature of a refrigerator but a `new' kind of refrigerator or even better a new cooling concept (like the replacing of the turntable by the CD player). The Novem wants to introduce (interest local importers/distributors and were needed the use of subsidies - no R&D subsidies however) these innovations(invented and/or developed abroad) on the Dutch market. Our survey is basically a desk-research (literature, patents, congress proceedings, etcetera) but we could use some help via the Internet. If there is anyone who could give us some hints on where to look for literature or knows of some new developments in this field or knows what kind of appliances offer the best chances for improvement, it would be much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance and with kind regards,
Martin Damen RIGO, Amsterdam http://www.rigo.nl
