CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Aga Khan Education Services Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) Pakistan is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to manage its operations spread throughout the country. AKES(P) operates a network of 203 schools with over 32,000 students. In addition to leading the group of senior professionals responsible for the day-to-day operations and services, you will achieve pre-determined goals like improving access and quality of education being imparted to students. Key responsibilities will involve overseeing the management of these operations including programme and financial functions, policy formulation, coordination, and overall direction. Working closely with the community and volunteers to understand community needs, you will help develop innovative strategies and provide institutional support. The CEO will be required to work with General Managers and Line Managers in each region and lead a work force of 2000 employees. An advanced degree and at least 7 years of experience at a very senior level in a middle-to-large organization are required. Experience in strategic planning and implementation is essential, together with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and an ability to grasp educational issues. Management experience in the social sector, particularly as an educationalist, would be a distinct advantage. This is a 3 year posting in Karachi, commencing January 1999.
