We are beginning an imaging project here at SMU and I am looking for
some information.

1. Is there a source to find out which image type (GIF,JPEG etc.) is best for different types of material to scanned. We have everything from original lithographs to hand written letters we would like to scan and knowing which image type is best would help in establishing standards for scanning.

2. We are looking at trying to purchase a copystnad scanner. Can someone tell me some manufacturers to contact and share any experiences you have had using them.

Thanks for any information
