Greetings all,i'm working with Pete Basofine (sacramento bee) on a newslib web site and have come up with a mini survey on the image archiving systems that special libraries are using. Please feel free to respond by e-mail, snail mail or fax.
QUESTIONS:
1. System(s) in use.
2. Vendor name, address and phone number.
3. Description of equipment (hardware) used (# of stations in use)
4. Enhancing functions available (adding of text, keywords, captions etc.)
5. Maintenance procedures/ Vendor support (does vendor support product, is it sufficient?
6. Initial Costs
7. Is system permanent or temporary? will expansion (adding of video, audio etc.) b possible?
8. System review/critique
9. Type of Library where system is in use. Who has access to database (library only, photo, etc.)
These questions are not absolute, i'll appreciate any and all information on the subject.
