Subject: Cataloging fine prints

The Free Library of Philadelphia has a large (200,000+) collection of fine prints, the John Frederick Lewis Portrait Collection, which spans in date from ca. 1600 to the 1920s. We are in the process of designing a program to scan and catalog the collection. I am writing to ask those involved in cataloging prints to tell us how you have tackled the task, what sort of workflow you have developed, what sorts of access points you have provided. Individual AACR2 records? On OCLC or RLIN? Using AAT terms? Creating a digital file? Etc. Any information would be appreciated. Please respond to me directly because I am not a member of IMAGELIB. Thank you.
