As a recent subscriber, I apologize in advance if the following subject
has been discussed recently.
I have been examining the literature concerning the archivability of
CD-ROMs; for example, I found an article in Restaurator 12:4. I was
wondering, however, if anyone out there might know what the absolute
latest information is on the longevity of images stored on discs.
Specifically, I'd like to be able to answer the question: Is CD-ROM
an archivally sound medium for storing images? Also, has there been
any data published recently on aging testing of CD-ROMs or on optical
storage devices in general?
Thanks in advance
