By the way...We still can't get Access to upgrade from 1.1 to 2.0 AND work properly with Picture Publisher (either v.3.1 OR the newest v.5.0) on our existing slide database.
Does anyone still have that Usenet address so that I could post the message to them? (I tried calling both help-lines about 100 times each...they're totally useless... they both keep blaming each other and when all else fails they tell me to "re-install Windows"...which we tried out of desperation, although of course it made not one iota of a difference...)
To refresh people's memories, this has to do with the Paste-Link function...I make a miniature version of the desired image using PP, Copy it to the Clipboard, then switch to Access and Paste it in the appropriate frame, also Linking it to the original image...so that when you double click on the mini-image or thumbnail, the system automatically brings up the original large version of the image...Neat, huh?
Except that, using Access 2.0 with PP v. 3.1 (and yes, the database has been converted beforewe attempt this), I get to the point where I'm about to paste the copied imagein the proper frame, and then I get a "Can't generate Picture Publisher Image" message, always followed by a "Picture Publisher has caused a General Protection Fault in Kernel 386" message, followed by the database closing downand becoming corrupt...UGH ! Every time!
And, when we tried to use Picture Publisher 5.0, the Paste-Link function was not EVEN FUNCTIONING! (i.e. it was shadowed in the menu bar). Of course, the good folks at either MicroSoft or Micrografx couldn't explain this phenomenum, either...
