The Warner Research Collection, located at the Burbank Public Library,
is a preproduction rearch library for the motion picture and television
industry. The collection was formerly the Warner Bros. Studio Research
Library, housed on the Warner lot and operated by Warner Bros. In
1975, Warner Bros. donated the collection to the City of Burbank and
the City has operated it as a fee-based library since that time.

The following are some facts about the Warner Research Collection to provide the scope of its size and value:

* 15,000-20,000 hardcover books, trade paper books, and pamphlets * 15,000-20,000 magazines, periodicals, journals, and similar materials * Approximately 300 trade and "home" catalogs * Approximately 200 Quarto, folio, and elephant folio-sized atlases, art, costume, and related topics * several hundred composite photo research volumes plus several thousand set/scene photographs from Warner Bros. motion pictures * several hundred drawings, set designs, posters, scripts, and other paper items * Approximately 4,000,000 clippings and files housed in metal filing cabinets

We're looking to sell the Warner Research Collection to raise funds about 5 million dollars to rebuild our Buena Vista Branch Library.
