We are developing a database comprised of text and images. We are using BASISPLUS a document database management system which handles both text and multimedia. The advantage of using this kind of software is that database fields can be constructed so that text of various kinds, i.e. titles, owners, descriptions etc. can accompany each picture. Indexes for each field are created and can be searched. This is not an inexpensive system but it is useful.
