Can anyone tell me if there is a scanning software program
that allows you to see an accurate version of the image that you scanned
in the preview area.

We are scanning 5x7 b&w negatives on a HP 4c scanner with a trans media adapter and we are using the scanning software that came with the scanner. Our problem is, after we scan the image, we have to open it up in Photoshop to see how it looks. Because we are scanning them at 600 dpi, it takes forever to open them up just to see if the scanning levels are correct. It seems like there should be a program that actually shows you how the image will look when you do your first scan.

Any ideas?
