We are about to purchase a cd recorder to use in archiving and backing up our image files and database. I know this subject has probably been covered before, but would like to ask if anyone out there has recently purchased a cd recorder and whether they can make any recommendations regarding a model to purchase and the software to run it. The cd recorder will be connected to the cpu (a Mac 8500) that holds the images temporarily after they have been color-corrected and formatted for the web and digital archive. I am not contemplating purchasing a cd-rewritable drive because I have read that cd-rs are not readable by many cd readers and that the media itself is much more expensive.
