As part of the Landmap project, www.landmap.ac.uk, Manchester Computing are conducting a brief survey of image web serving technology specifically designed to serve the Landsat and SPOT datasets held at MIMAS. To date several major players have been identified who provide such technology in the GIS domain: Image Web Server (ERMapper), MrSID Image Server
(LizardTech), Web Interface/Smartmap (Formida), Arc View Internet Server
(Esri), ION (Research Systems Inc.) and Maptitude (Caliper). We would be interested to hear of any similar software, either GIS specific or generic, that should be included in the survey.
