Guenter,
I am responsible for the technical side of various digitisation projects
at the National Library of Australia. We use high-end scanners and
digital scanning backs. As our main priority is archiving we decided on
strict standards that we want to use. I will be happy to write on topics
including workflows, colour management, archiving issues, digitising
standards, metadata, on-line delivery of images and explaining how
digital devices work, and pros and cons for using them.
Let me know if you are interested.
Regards
