Conference Announcement:4th Annual Directors' Conference Digitization and the Creation of Virtual Libraries hosted by VTLS Inc. September 18-20, 1994
The infrastructure of communities around the world is rapidly changing as societies both clustered and diverse seek to gain the economic and educational advantages associated with access to multimedia information. The virtual library concept is not virtual anymore. Virtual libraries are sprouting up all over the world.
The 4th Annual Directors' Conference will focus on how the adoption of standards such as Z39.50 coupled with advancing imaging technologies are allowing libraries around the world to implement and access virtual libraries. Experts in their fields will overview administrative issues such as budgeting for and implementing a virtual library and training current staff.
