onto Kodak Photo-CD. This gives you a high-quality archival copy.
If I could make the humble suggestion that the jury is still out regarding whether or not Photo CD qualifies as "a high-quality archival copy." For numerous reasons, I am of the camp that doesn't accept the assumption, and therefore like to reiterate that one must investigate all options and understand what one wants to achieve, checking for the benefits and pitfalls of each viable technological option. And there are always several methods or pathways to desired digital solutions.
Photo CD may be appealing in many regards, but there are a few less-than-perfect aspects of its feature list.
