The University of Virginia Library is in the initial stages of acquisition of
a Kontron camera for the Special Collections Digital Center. Because we are a
state agency, the purchase process is slow and complicated, especially for a
piece of equipment of this sort. The base price is $29,000 and we hope to
acquire a camera modified to compensate for tilt and swing, which raises the
cost some thousands.
