Sandeep's point on all images being the same concerns me. Retrieval of text
images can be much easier because text images have provenance based in the
bibliographic tradition of cataloging. Non-textual images demand a much
different indexing system, one which we just beginning to understand. Text
images can be machine indexed for content, non textual images cannot. Although
both are stored via the same technology, they are very different breeds of cat,
and users access them in very different ways.
