image maps -> URL

To: Multiple recipients of list IMAGELIB

Image maps for URL I have seen used and have researched, but have come to a
halt.
I use three files

   file.map
   file.html
   file.gif

pretty self explanitory... the map has the x,y cords to shot a specific URL.. I
have completed
all of this BUT It still does nothin...except the display the file.map instead
of call up the correct
url file.....
Example...

http:\\www.rain.org\~bjlcomm\bjldojo.html

I have read about some httpd & cgi directories. My server has them but do I
need to use em... anyone?
