We've got two US$25.000 Itek scanners, with a dynamic
range of 4.0 and several US$ 10.000 Kodak RFS 2500 plus 35mm film
scanners, which dynamic range is 3.0.

Our originals are mainly 35mm color negatives, both for color or B/W output and we produce newspaper.

At this moment we are starting a series of tests concerning film brands, types and formats, development, scanner and Photoshop setup, etc. in order to establish some standards.

I would like to get in contact with other professionals with similar experience.

Does anybody know if we really need all the benefits of the Itek drum scanners, considering our final product is a newspaper, or the Kodaks are enough ?

Thanks for the help.
