The Herb Lubalin Study Center of Typography and Design at The Cooper
Union School of Art is pleased to announce that a public access version of
the National Graphic Design Archive Image Database is available at

http://ngda.cooper.edu

All the data records are accesible, but only 10% of the images are displayed.The public access version is currently restricted to select images created before 1920.

Scholars interested in contributing their knowledge and expertise to the system may request full access by sending e-mail to mailto:mirsky@cooper.edu. The full access version comes complete with "visual" and "context" notes fields for remote users to enter analysis. Instructions appear below.

Technical information:

System works best with Netscape 3.0. You will have problems with Netscape 2.0.

Press on blue title page to reach Database menu and then Search to reach the Advanced Search menu.

You may view these images by selecting "dates" from the white pop-up menu under Select Search Option.

Enter "before 1920" under Input Data.

Press the Add Element button.

Term and Search button will appear in the third column.

Press Search

You will have access to thumbnail, middle and large resolution versions of your search results.
