We use a Scitex Eversmart Pro. The glass in scanner's hinged top floats on
springs to compensate for the thickness of the glass plate, so the only
problem is keeping the three pieces of glass from smacking up against each
other. To do that, we've placed a foam frame (slightly thicker than the
glass plate) around the perimeter of the platen. We also lay the glass plate
on a .4 mil sheet of clear Mylar, which reduces the abrasion on the
emulsion. It's working very well.
