While I'm trying to figure out why Monica's posts to the listserv
keeping getting rejected here is her question. Please reply to her at
her email address: mailto:mgarciar@rree.gob.pe Thanks, Stuart

We are planning to scan a selection of 1300 maps of the Historical
Boundary Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru. We would
like to know more about the technical specifications for each one of the
images: Archive, Display, Access and Thumbnail. Eventhough I have been
reading that the archive image should be scanned in TIFF at
300dpi, 24 bit, RGB, no compression, and that the thumbnail should be
GIF or JPG, 72dpi, 8bit, RGB, no compression; - I do not really know the
proper specs for the other two images.
I have also seen that MrSID is used by some institutions like the
Library of Congress and would like to know more about the pros and cons
of using this software.
Thank you in advance for your help.
