We have a Kontron ProgRes 3012 since 2 years. We use it especially for digitizing photographs (slides and prints) . The camea is very fast, versatile and really good, we never had any problems. The only problem is the objective you need: it must be of best optical correction (apochromatic!) As soon as you close the stop more than f 4.0-5.6 you loose resolution (the diffraction pattern is larger than the CCD pixel element).
