QBIC by IBM as demoed last spring has to be given visual clues, ie draw a triangle shape and key to image. Virage actually does appear to recognize patterns without your input, but it is still pretty hazy, like an animal's eye might recognize patterns. However Excalibur is new to me. Can you provide more info? Thanks
