We are using an HP DesignJet 500 for large format printing. We have been
very pleased thus far. We have it networked and it works great. I haven't
printed anything as intricate as a map on it, but it does a good job with
banners. Good luck with your purchase...

Subject: Large format printer/plotter specs
Printers are related to images so here's my question for ImageLib:
We are considering the purchase of a large format printer for several large
scale projects that require non-standard printing capabilities. I wonder if
anyone here has personal recommendations. i have been looking at the HP
DesignJet 755CM printer. One function this one has that I like is network
capabilities. We would be mainly using it to print maps from GIS data and
banners for exhibits. As usual, any suggestions welcomed.
