We are beginning to explore the possibilities of scanning documents, both
for preservation purposes but also for access (actually, the emphasis
here is access).

The documents are of unusual sizes: 10" x 14" and 12" x 12" are typical size of the documents we need to scan. We are looking for equipment that is reliable, can deliver high resolution images including color, and that will run effectively on DOS/Windows, Mac or UNIX platforms.

I would appreciate advice from those who have filled similar requirements and are satisfied with the results.

Best,

John Howard
