Hi,

This posting seemed somewhat relevant to the list -- please excuse if I've gone off-topic a bit...

I'm serving on a committee that is charged with formulating an approach to archiving campus epubs, such as online newspapers, ejournals, newsletters published on campus. We're in the information gathering stage and would like to hear what other institutions have done/are doing. Questions include:

-- how are other campuses approaching the issue of archiving local epubs? -- approaches to handling various formats of files, images? -- what model, demo, or pilot projects are under way? -- what kinds of policies are under development or in practice? -- how are technical issues being addressed? -- what costs are involved? Equipment? -- what departments or positions are responsible?

If you can share relevant information or experience about selecting and archiving campus epubs, we'd greatly appreciate hearing from you directly (reply to mailto:stacey_kimmel@ncsu.edu). Responses can be summarized for the list if there is sufficient interest.

Thanks!

Stacey Kimmel
