I know nothing for or against the Agfa line, but it
happens I was just looking at a Microtek
announcement, and their E5 (I think that's the name,
the announcement is at home) looked very intriguing
generally, especially if you need to scan a bunch of
slides, and their 9600xl looked good if you need 12x17.
The E5 had an arrangement with templates for a batch
scan of slides that removed glass from the optical path.
We expect to order a 9600 Real Soon Now. The E5
scans a smaller area.
