James,I don't think this is about the CD -- although we've found read problems CD-Rs across machines (multiple AMICO members send us CD-Rs burned locally that sometimes we can't mount) not platforms.
Did your Mac User just double click on the file? If so, even if it was a Mac byte order tiff, her system might not have recognised the extension and launched the appropriate application. (her system will see a pc file).
Trying to open the file with the appropriate viewer/application program usually solves this problem. She can also map the .tif extension to an application, using the Pc Exchange (File Exchange in OS 8.5) control panel.
