    They do. The curvature correction takes place at the time of scanning. This would not work for an image that had already been scanned.

    A wild idea that just occurred to me would be to find someone with VR/3-D modeling software, have them recreate the page as a 3D page that has a curl on the one side, straighten the curl out, and then produce a 2D image of the flattened 3D page. Of course, I have no idea of anyone capable of doing this, or if it can be done. It's just an idea...
