Hi,
After also having to deal with this problem, I have gone to Kodak CD-R Ultima which is a silver+gold alloy evidently...
I tracked them down at this website - the only one I've found so far as a matter of fact - that explains where the Gold
ltimas went - that you can get Digital Audio Gold CD-R's and that there are indeed these alloy ones that are supposedly
s stable... I haven't seen any place else that has these - I tried ordering the Gold ones from the place I used to get
them (Outpost) and was told they were discontinued... after much searching I found them here:

Good luck,

I have heard (through customer service reps at Kodak) that Kodak will no longer be producing their Gold Ultima recordabl
CDs. We have been using these because they are the most stable CDs on the market, and are recommended for archival purp
ses. Have those of you out there who are using the Gold Ultima CDs decided what to use next? Is there another manufactur
r out there making a similar product? (From what I have heard, most people are not yet ready to move on to DVD, so I thi
k I am looking for a CD-R product.)
