Hi Donna,
We have been using CONTENTdm at the University of Utah for over two
years, and are very pleased with it, and with the support we've received
from DiMeMa Inc. We have more than a dozen sizeable collections on our
website http://www.lib.utah.edu/digital/ that have been posted with
CONTENTdm, and have found it to be very flexible and powerful. We've
even embarked on a state-wide project now, in which four CONTENTdm
servers will be positioned at the largest universities in the state, and
they will host smaller institutions in their geographical regions in
addition to hosting their own collections. State-wide cross-collection
searching will be available by third quarter 2002.
What has caused you to re-install three times? Is the software failing,
or is it hardware trouble, etc? Which server OS are you running
CONTENTdm on? We have lots of experience with the Solaris version, but
are now switching over to Windows 2000 (administrative decision rather
than a technical one), so if there's any help we can give we'd be happy
to do so.
