    <pre> To Imagelib:

For a potential article (or series of articles), I'm looking for people who have assembled large personal scholarly image archives primarily focused on a relatively narrow research area or topic.

I am especially interested in learning about collections that were NOT formed primarily for teaching, without necessarily excluding those that serve dual purpose for research and teaching.

If you are interested in sharing information about any such collection that you have assembled, kindly send me a short description of it.

Leads to collections you know about would also be appreciated.

The topics cited below can serve as a guide to describing this kind of collection.
= 1. Subject matter of the collection.
= 2. Number of images (approximately).
= 3. Format (slides, negatives, prints, etc.)
= 4. Is it catalogued or is there documentation of the images. What kind of documentation?
= 5. Approximate date collection begun.
= 6. Is it available for use by others?
= 7. Has it been transferred to a public or educational repository? Would you want to transfer it to such a repository at some time?
= 8. Is it also useful for teaching undergraduate courses?

    Many thanks for your efforts.

    Robert A. Baron
