I'm student in information technology at University of Stavanger (Norway) going to do some research on automatic analysis on diabethes retinopathi, and I hope some of you can help me providing some information.1) I do have access to some images(8). What should be a significant data set for such a research purpose?
2) The images I've got are not of excellent quality, I'm afraid. Does there exist any database with standard images of the retina ("optical fundus images") - including images with retinopathi symptoms - that are usually used for research? (Images taken by a digital camera would be preferable.)
3) I have seen a few articles on this subject, still I think there might be published several more. I appreciate any information; list of publications, contact persons, ongoing research and so on.
Please mail (a copy of) your reply directly to me. Thanks a lot in advance.
