We have a custom database in MsAccess that we are attempting to use for
this purpose. At approx. 2000 records plus images it began to exceed the
capacity of our 2.3 gig hard drive even though it was only about 1.1
gigs.

We've since moved to a 4 gig drive in the hopes of buying some more time in this fashion.

As a "image catalog" only we purposely kept the images small and of low resolution.

In the larger world of digital imaging, this is -- if you'll excuse the expression -- small potatoes; but it seems to work for us given the resource limitations we operate under.

I'll be happy to answer questions on our efforts.
