We are experimentingwith an outstanding image manager, PhotoImpact 3.0 (by Ulead, mailto:mkt@ulead.com). PI supports the full image management process: image capture, image editing (offers a small though powerful "photoshop"), image database, CD browser, graphic file explorer, image viewer. Full user-definable database, authority control for data input, very flexible thumbnails management, powerful retrieval features. Its price (about 200US$) is in no way indicative of its overall performance. Full 32-bit version (Windows 95 or NT). Run in three languages, English, French, German. We have'nt yet checked its performance under large volume (only 500 images at this time but still absolutely nice). Ulead claims it supports up to 65,535 thumbnails images in a single album, with an unlimited number of albums (disk space should be the limitation). Supports over 35 file formats. Compliant to Microsoft Office or other OLE-2 programs. 99 levels of undo available.
