Hello, Rachel ... she should go to photographica shows/sales in her area. There are people around who collect and buy/sell/trade old equipment, cameras, lenses and the like. PHSNE holds a large 2 day photographica sale in the Boston area that draws a lot of people who sell a huge variety of optical gear, so she ought to be able to find such an event in the Pittsburgh area.
