Hi Terry and everyone,
I'm using shareware called iViewMultimedia for very similar purposes.
You drop a folder onto the iView Window, and it imports header
information for the files plus creates thumbnails for browsing (which
you may want to turn of depending on the number of files - slows
things down). The gathered data can be exported into a tab / comma
-delimited text file, which in turn can be re-imported into a db.
iViewMultimedia is a free download from the web, at least for the
Mac. iViewMultimedia will be distributed with the next version of
TOAST.
Another program which I haven't used, but which supposedly provides
similar functionality, is called ACDsee.
