I'm new to the list and am contemplating a return to image librarianship after several years. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, before the advent of feasible digitizing programs, I managed a large and active picture collection. I went on to
"print" librarianship and might now be able to work in a slide collection. Naturally, I have some catching up to do and will be reading a lot of professional literature.

I'd love to hear about the pleasures and pitfalls you experience; how your collections meet or could better meet your users' needs, how the analog and digital mix works in the same collection, what you see on the horizon.
