Howard Besser makes a crucial point in differentiating document scanning
and photograph scanning as frames of reference on this listserve. The
reason I asked "which Princeton project" in answer to Vinod Chachra's
query was because of the variety of imaging projects underway here.
The project to which he refers involves the scanning of our library's
massive card catalogue. The projects more immediately on my mind have
to do with scanning and 3-D modelling of works of art and architecture.
