Subject: Draft data elements for Clearinghouse
To: Multiple recipients of list IMAGELIB <mailto:IMAGELIB@ARIZVM1.BITNET>

As mentioned in the Imagelib announcement, part of our purpose is to serve
as a Clearinghouse of image databases in libraries. Our plan is to post
the information in the Images directory on our Library Gopher server. This
should make it easily accessible to all. We would like to receive
information on image databases under development, as well as those that are
"open to the public."

Following is a first draft of the data elements that people should attempt to include when submitting information on their databases. We think that providing a fair level of detail is helpful to others who are developing an image database. Of course, if limited information is submitted, we'd still include it in the Clearinghouse.

Please read over the following elements and reply directly to me, rather than the listserv. I will summarize for the list. Thanks to Howard Besser who made several useful suggestions for additional categories. I'll post a second draft after getting your input.

Regards, Stuart
