Dear list,

Yesterday I posed a note including reference to software called "IMAGE" from the National Institutes of Health. Several people have asked about it. From the programs manual...

"IMAGE is a public domain program for the Macintosh for doing digital image processing and analysis. It can acquire, display, edit, enhance, analyze, print, and animate images....."

(IMAGE is available) "via anonymous FTP from alw.nih.gov (128.231.128.251) in the directory /pub/image. Enter 'anonymous' as the user name and anything you like as the password. The /image directory contains the latest version of Image, along with source code, HyperCard reference stack, and many sample images)."

IMAGE is also available from many Macintosh bulletin boards.

Hope this helps....
