Jon,The list of discriptors you mention are what I had in mind. I have thought of how one would retrieve an image of the White House from the south side at 5pm on a sunny day. Here we have a standard image, but from a specific view and a time of day and specific weather conditions. I sounds like several projects are dealing with this level of discription. What we need is a nationally accepted standard across projects. I sense that there is no organization or body which is currently drawing people from these disparate groups to discuss these issues. I have been talking to Paul Peters at CNI ( Coalition for Networked Information) about somehow bringing these people together. I hope that Imagelib might just be a way for people like yourself to make contact.
I am delighted to see the membership of this list is populated by folks from many differnet backgrounds.
Stuart, is there any way for us to get an idea of who is on this list?
Paul
