Have any of you looked at using Acrobat CAPTURE to turn TIFFs into Adobe's PDF (portable document format)? File size can be greatly reduced...text is searchable....the viewers (Acrobat Reader) are free etc. Viewers are available for UNIX (SunOS/Solaris and soon HP. Files can also be opened with the latest rev of Ghostscript.

I'd be more than happy to process a few files if you want to send me the TIFFs or the paper docs for me to scan.
