We are looking to buy a low end color scanner and are considering the Relysis 9624T
which is 24 bit, has 600x2400 optical dpi and comes with a transparency adapter.
Relysis advertises a 4830 model which has 30bit color but with less optical resolution at
1600 x 400. Would someone explain the relationship between bit depth and dpi. Is the
higher dpi with less bit depth preferable. Thanks
