This is a plea to all those that understand the wonders of computerland to help me figure out an ongoing problem with my Microtek scanner and my twain driver. I work off a new PC that was installed in early March. From the onset after 13 to 15 scans my computer locks up and gives me an error message that says it can't find the Louisa.DLL file and I have to back out of Photoshop and Windows and reboot. Then I'm good for another 13 to 15 scans and the whole thing happens again. I've been rebooting after 11 scans and so I sidestep the problem (at least temporarily). Microtek has been worthless in addressing the issue. After they realized it was more complex than one phone call they have not responded to any faxes or letters. It seems to me the problem is the twain driver (possibly Windows but more likely the driver). Am I stuck using the twain to scan with a PC or is there another way. We're pretty miserable here at Hill so any and all responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all for listening.Merle Suhayda LSU Hill Memorial Library Electronic Imaging Lab email mailto:NOTMRS@LSUVM.SNCC.LSU.EDU phone 504 388 3686
