You might also want to take a look at the article "Image Authentication for a Slippery New Age," printed in the April 1995 issue of _Dr._Dobb's_Journal_. The article is pretty technical -- which might or might not be a good thing, depending on your perspective -- and includes source code (written in C) for embedding "signatures" in digital images. The author of the article is Steve Walton (mailto:stevew@eskimo.com).
